Judi Lavoie was fillled with the love of art as far back as she can remember. This desire to learn art led her to study at John Herron Art Institute in Indiana gaining her an Associates Degree.
Eager to branch out in new directions she studied portrait painting with Bill Ashby at the Indianapolis Art League. Her portrait work became one of her most accomplished areas of painting.
Her work was displayed at many prominent galleries in Indianapolis. She received many awards in competition through the years but her greatest joy has come from working with students.
Since moving to Maine 15 years ago, Judi has been busy painting and teaching. She paints by commission, which includes murals and portraits, and occasionally shows in local galleries. Some hours each week she devotes to teaching art. Her students remark that they enjoy her one-on-one style of teaching.
